Embracing Neurodiversity, Always Learning, Always FUN!
At our Wonder Centres, we believe that autistic children deserve acceptance and support, not a cure. Our mission is to cultivate a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. Through fostering acceptance, providing tailored support, and creating a positive atmosphere, we aim to empower each child to embrace their unique abilities and journey towards a bright future.
OUR VALUES
We listen to autistic voices.
We respect children’s choices.
We believe learning should be fun and natural.
We value participation and input from families
Consultants (BC)
The Consultant typically has a Master’s degree in Special Education and additional training in strategies shown to help learning in neurodiverse children. A goal plan will be developed with the family’s input that will focus on increasing helpful skills such communication with others, self-regulation, and social interaction. Older children may also focus on school academics, social/play groups and self advocacy. The Consultant will ensure your child is moving forward and working toward their full potential.
Instructors (BIs)
Skill Instructors are trained by our Consultants and Therapists to work directly with your child at our centre. Every child will have an assigned instructor who will work on building a positive and safe relationship and focus on creating frequent teaching opportunities during sessions together. Our team uses strategies such as: following the child’s interest, offering choices, taking turns, and using visuals.
Speech and Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists bring expertise to the team. Therapists can provide specialized assessments, direct support and individualized training to your child, family and team. Speech Therapists will develop communication systems for children struggling to use spoken language.
