Music Therapy
Durae Wilson, BMT, MTA, MT-BC
Durae is a certified Music Therapist (MTA), and a graduate of Capilano University's Bachelor of Music Therapy program. Durae has studied music since the age of six, and is experienced in playing the piano, the guitar and singing both classically and in popular and broadway styles. As a member of the Wonder Team for over 4 years, Durae has gained experience integrating ABA therapy techniques into her work as a Music Therapist. She enjoys working with children, and sharing musical experiences with them in a variety of settings and styles.
Durae will work closely with the rest of the ASD Wonder Team to create a Music Therapy program that integrates the priority goals already in place for your child's development and learning. Sessions will aim to provide a fun and unique experience that include exploring new and favoured instruments, singing songs together, and increasing targeted behaviours with music being used as a tool for motivation and encouragement.
